My Ursula Performance Video is ALIVE!
Back in December of 2025 I started sharing the behind-the-scenes of my creative process as I made a new Ursula-inspired bellydance solo!

Now (8 months later 🤯) I finally have a performance video to share of the final product!
This video is from last week’s sold out Raqs Reawakening show in Austin, Texas.
I still made a few mistakes that I hope to iron out in future performances but overall I’m very proud to share the final product!
So many of my friends and family were in the audience whooping, cackling, and cheering me on. Several people after told me just how much I looked like Vanessa (Ursula’s human form). It was a blast being inhabited by VanUrsula’s villainous energy!
This was actually the second time I performed this VanUrsula solo. The first time I did wildly different makeup look and I executed the choreography with more sharpness. My mom identified the differences between the two performances and put it this way:
“In the first performance you were more sleezy, in the second performance you were more steezy.”
(Our family is getting familiar with skater lingo since my 2 year old became fascinated by skateboarding… 😆 “steezy”=stylish+easy)
In the first performance I was more Ursula…in the second performance I was more Vanessa. I’ll make sure to share the other video soon, too, for the die-hard fans who are invested in this piece!

That’s okay! The sessions will be recorded and I will also be sending out short practice videos to help you advance your drum and dance skills outside of our meetings!
